  1. Mud is made of dirt...Dirt is made of small particles of stone. This is the worst thing you can do for a chain saw blade. If you keep your saw chain blades clean while sawing, they will last a long time.


  2. The mud has fine sand particles in it that dull the blade. Sometimes it is almost impossible to tell as the particles can range in size from the tip of a pen to a finite grit.

  3. Simply put keep it out of the dirt........it's the sand.......even certain types of trees will dull the chain.........like all tools the sharper the better........enjoy.......Hope you have learned to sharpen your self........it not try........it's fun to keep a sharp edge on them........and watch the big chips fly......bye
