Why does music effect dreams so much?

how come if you hear a piece of music in you dreams - say, a sad piece of music - your dream turns into something you find sad? it's so weird!

i dont know its weird like one day my bro put on some happy song and everything was going great i was all like coool!! but then i woke up...its weird haha...oh and nice pic..brings bak memories

Music effects us in so many ways that we are not always conscious of.  We practically hear music everywhere we go - in the shopping stores, in hotels, at the gym, etc.....  

But the real analysis of music.... shows that sad songs are written in minor key signatures, which in result make us think of something sad that has happened in our life.  Most marches are written in major keys which tend to have strength and sound happy!  

Music effects us because of how it is written, and how we personally relate to music.
