Line 6 Spider III, 8 inch 15watt amp, when near halfway full master gain it sounds really "out of place" and fuzzy etc

I have better sounds coming from it when it is more quiet, why is this?

  1. Often the volume control is not proportional so the amp is probably at 95% output when the volume contol is just half way, because people often compare amps by how loud they are for say a quarter turn an amp with a proportional volume control would loose out. 15 Watts isnt much, especially trying to control a 8 inch woofer. Maybe get something with more grip, and look at real 8ohm rms watts rather than instantaneous watts for a milisecond just before it blew.

  2. Well with my electric Guitar on my 20 Watt amp It took a bit of modding to get rid of the problem; You can try seeing if a wire is out of place.. Also the Amp might be too close to a Magnetic object or a powerfull electronic device that sometiems muddles with the output.

    Happy Guitaring ^^

  3. It distortion and its produced when you press the overdrive button or when you turn up the volume....
