I have a 2 year old chiuaua/s**+ tzu mix and she continuously eats her f***s and my other two dogs f***s... She is definitely not underfed as she is a bit round now.... It really grosses me out... Is there an explanation for this,do I need to take her to the vet for syndrome?

  1. i was watching "its me or the dog"

and this dog kept on eating her poo, so they fed her pineapple to make her poo taste bad

if sh still does it change her food to a higher quality

  2. It's mostly just a bad habit.  You can break it by giving her and the other two a pill that you can get from the pet store that makes stool taste aweful.  You don't have to give it to them for a long time, just until the habit is broken.  Maybe a week or 10 days.  I have also heard that feeding your dog pineapple makes the stool taste terrible to them, so you may want to check that instead of the pills.

  3. it is sign that she not getting the nutrients she needs.. that is the usually why they do that.. now if she eats her food really fast.give her a little a time that way she does eat so fast. another thing is put pinnapple in her food that will make her f***s smell bad to her and she wont eat it. if that is not it you might notgiving her the right food..

What kind food do you feed her

  4. She might not be getting the proper nutrients needed. That doesn't mean you aren't feeding her enough but rather you aren't feeding her the right diet.

    Here are other triggers:

"1. A dog with a physical problem that causes excessive hunger, pain, or other sensations may resort to eating f***s. If your adult dog who has not previously had this habit suddenly develops it, take the dog to your veterinarian for a check-up.

    2. A dog who is not getting enough to eat or is going too long between meals may eat f***s. Your veterinarian can help you evaluate the dog's weight and can suggest a feeding schedule and amount. Sometimes it takes experimentation to see what works best for a particular dog.

    3. A dog with intestinal parasites or other condition that creates blood or other fecal changes may eat f***s. One dog may eat the f***s of another dog who is shedding something like this in the stools. A fresh fecal specimen to your veterinarian for evaluation can detect some of these problems.

    4. Sometimes a change of diet helps. There doesn't seem to be any one food that is right for all dogs, and your dog may need something different than you're currently feeding. Be sure to make any changes of diet gradual, mixing the new food in with the old over a period of several days or weeks, to give the dog's intestines time to adjust and avoid diarrhea from the change.

    5. Some dogs develop a mental connection that they will be punished if their humans find them in the same room with f***s. Dogs react to this fearful situation in various ways, and one way is to eat the f***s so it will not be there to make the human angry. This is one of many reasons not to use punishment when housetraining a dog.

    6. Boredom can cause dogs to do all sorts of things, including eat f***s. Interesting toys that have treats inside them for the dog to get out can help with lots of boredom-based problems.

    7. Dogs may do just about any wild thing when suffering from separation anxiety. If that is the problem, this won't be the only symptom, and you'll want to help your dog work through the separation anxiety."

As the person below me suggested, spray the f***s with vinegar until their desire to eat it is broken. However, it might be something more serious and require medical attention(refer to trigger #1).

  5. Because dogs are gross.  Trust me, you are not alone.  Most perfectly healthy dogs enjoy eating f***s...although most dogs prefer the f***s of other animals and leave dog f***s alone.  But many perfectly healthy and well-adjusted dogs like to eat dog f***s.  My 3 year old shepherd does this too...in fact I caught him in the act this morning.  There really isn't very much you can do about it.  There are products available in pet stores that you can add to the food that are supposed to make the f***s taste unpleasant to the dog (there are several products at any pet store or adolf's meat tenderizer available in many grocery stores also has the same effect).  However, these products really are hit or miss.  They work for some dogs but many will continue to eat f***s.  The only effective way to deal with this nasty habit is to pick up any and all f***s promptly before your dog has a chance to chow down on them.

  6. Unfortunately, I had a lab who would do the same thing.   I think that she came from a puppy mill even though I didn't buy her from a pet store.

Anyway, I tried all  of the so-called remedies that you can ge from the vet and none of them worked.  I even tried the  home remedies such as Meat Tenderizer and that didn't work either.  What I never did try was pineapple, which I heard is supposed to work.  You just put a spoonful  or two of pineapple in with the dog food or feed it afterwards as a treat.  Make sure you rinse off the excess juice.

The reason I never tried using pineapple is because I hadn't heard about it until my lab was already gone.  She died of old age though and not from eating p**p.

All I can suggest is that you let your dogs out at different times and make sure you clan up immediately after they both go.

Good luck.  Give the pineapple a try.  You have nothing to lose.

  7. There is a name for this, lots of do this, sick as it is. There is a cause and a cure check out this site

  8. it could be that she is undernourished in some way. not necessarily from the amount of food she gets. my dog did this also, we took her to the vet, and they recommended feeding pineapple or adding a meat tenderizer to the food. we found though, that switching to a higher quality dog food worked great! we feed "taste of the wild" which she loves, and she hasn'tt been eating any f***s since!

  9. From what I have read,

a way to stop this is by spraying her droppings with a sour smell like vinegar and water. Dogs hate sour smells like citrus. It seems cruel, but they need to learn the difference from food and p**p. I have heard that this happens a lot with puppies, if it still continues you should really take her to see a vet.
