Question:

Why does my 2000 dodge stratus pull to the right and the wheel locks up and skids?

i have put over 1,500 bucks into the breaks alone on this car and would really hate to get rid of it since #1 its paid for and #2 it only has 80,000 miles on it, but im at my wits end with it . so if anyone out there could help me out here with some info it would be greatly appricated.

  1. if it's doing it when braking...you have a bad caliper. or see if your ABS light is always on. If it is your ABS system is faulty.


  2. you either have a brake caliper locking up on it or dirt has got in the caliper not letting it release all the way or a bad wheel bearing in it,that's about all that will cause one to lock up like that,the abs unit can cause this if its not working right and also the proportioning valve can be off center causing this to happen,the valve will hold pressure on a certain wheel longer than it should and that can cause whats happening to it also,good luck on it.

  3. bad caliper would be a good guess most likely... but it might be a fluid flow problem but not as likely
