Question:

Why does my 3 year old throw up?

Since my son was about a year old he throws up out of the blue occasionally. It happens about every 2 months and when he throws up, he will usually do this about 2-3 times a week. You dont know when he will get nauseas, thats how fast it happens. When he does do this, he has no other signs of illness. He will throw up and be fine the rest of the day. He also isnt one for a big appetite. Its a struggle to get him to get half the time. He gained about 2 pounds in a year when he went for his 3 yr checkup and is in the 75th percentile which is alright. The doctor doesnt seemed concerned about this, so I try not to worry about it. Does anyone know what could cause this?

  1. Keep a food diary of all that he ate the day he vomits. If it shows a pattern over the months you will be able to see what makes him sick and then you can tell your doctor. The Dr. should have been the one to tell you this....

  2. He maybe allergic to an ingredients or herb you occasionally use to cook with. He may just have a sensitive stomach. If the doctor's not worried than I wouldn't worry to much either.
