He seems to have been doing it since we first got him, he can walk fine, but when he picks up speed his back end kicks out and he runs sideways.

Is this anything to worry about, we got him and his sister and his sister is fine?

  1. Thinks he is a crab?

  2. my staffy puppy did this til she was about 7 months and has been fine, if your really wondered and you can check with the vet

  3. My dog does this. It just seems to be something she does.

  4. My pug is four and does it too! Nothing is wrong, like some people when they run kick their legs up really high, its just how they run!!!

  5. My puppy does the same, some grow out of it and others don't.

  6. My lhasa did when he was younger, grown out of it now.

  7. He could have a luxating patella.  Usually this can be fixed with therapy.  My dog had this when he was young, but we picked it up too late and he had to have a pin in his knee.  He runs sideways.  Does your dog sit down funny as well?  Kinda with his legs out to the side instead of directly toward his front legs.  If you do not get this sorted, and if it is a luxating patella, your dog will be in loads of pain (as his knee will be slipping in and out) and his leg could go lame and have to be amputated at the worst case scenario.  I hope you get your dog x-rayed at the vets and that all is fine.
