Why does my Bose 321 system have a lag problem?

I just bought this bose 321 series II system today. My bose 321 system's audio and video are out of sync. I have a motorola hd dvr/cable cable box, a hitachi hd tv, and the bose 321 system. Here is the setup:

the cable box is connected with component video cables to the tv, analog audio cables to the tv, and a coaxial audio cable to the bose 321 system in the cbl-sat digital audio input.

My problem is that the video is about a half second faster than the audio. It is not that bad, but it is annoying. The reason I have the cable box connected to the tv and bose 321 system is so that I can tell when there is no lag in audio and video. The tv's audio from the cable box is flawless. When I have the tv audio and bose audio both on, it sounds like the bose is echoing the tv. Can you please help me? I tried to supply all details, but if you need anything else, just ask.

Interesting - you're not the first to find this problem, to quote from another website: "When the system was working and a DVD was not being used, the sound was noticeably out of sync with the cable broadcast. "

Have you tried any DVDs with this system yet, and do they work ok, i.e is it just the cable box with the sync problem?

It does sound as if the Bose system is basically struggling to decode the digital audio input data quick enough - if it's possible to connect the Bose system via analog cable to the cable box it would be worth trying as an experiment, see if any difference then.

Listen to me, and im not being bias here.  Bose is c**p!!  The only reason people buy Bose, is because its everywhere.  Its kind of like McDonalds its so over marketed that eventually your brain is lke "well maybe it will be good" but its not.  Have you ever compared Bose with any quality speaker company?  ie Paradigm.  You will notice a huge difference.

If you can use the same cables in between and receiver first then TV.
