I just found out that my Bright Futures scholarship ( I have the 100% one) is only covering about $2000 per semester out of about $15,000. Why is that?

  1. what school are you going to?

bright futures only applies to tuition (not including dorm, books, etc) for florida residents going to florida public schools.

they may give partial funding to private florida schools or certain out of state public ones.

  2. I also have 100% Bright Futures, but I think that it only covers a 100% of a Florida public university's tuition.  If you are going to a private school it only covers a portion.  If you're going to an out of state school that's probably why they're covering even less than the standard $4000-ish that most public tuitions are, because Bright Futures is largely an incentive plan to stay in Florida.
