Question:

Why does my DVD player do this?

I just got a Vizio LCD TV and a Memorex DVD player, and I have them hooked up with an HDMI cable. When I play a DVD, it plays for a few seconds, then the sound and the picture shuts off. When I change the resolution on the DVD player, they both come back on for a few seconds but shut off again. The TV doesn't say no signal either like it would if I had it to an input that had no signal. What do you make of this? It's a 1080p DVD player if that matters.

  1. Make sure the HDMI cable is hooked up tight and in the right places. Maybe the DVD is too scratched up for the DVD Player to play. If that's why then you can take it to game crazy and they'll fix it up with their new machines. The machine gets rid of all of the scratches on any CD no matter what kind of disk it is.  Not records though.
