When I plug it in it freezes my computer and then when I unplug it it asks to reformat my Ipod. Once I've clicked "OK" to reformat it freezes again. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  1. 'Cause Apple hates Microsoft.

But really, you should restart your computer and see if you have a virus or a process running when you connect the iPod.

  2. Oh this happened to me, how much battery life is there? if it is left on to so that the battery can die out (As im guessing it still is frozen after you ave disconnected it) thereby meaning it will need to be connected to charge after you have done this... you shouldnt get the freeze or reformatting query after this process.. it may take a while depending on ur battery life!

  3. It may have too many songs on it. Try deleting some songs

  4. Make sure you have the latest version of itunes installed (www.apple.com/itunes) then restart computer.

also ensure the iPod is connected DIRECT to the computer and on a full power 500mA USB port not a low power 100mA one (laptops generally don't have 500mA USB ports).

as if its not getting the full 500mA it can behave oddly!!

  5. Try resetting it - -- that sorted mine out
