Question:

Why does my Kitchenaid paddle leave grey dust in my food?!?

My paddle attachment on my kitchenaid mixer leaves grey residue in batters. Sometimes it will stop for a while. Other times I can actually rub off a grey residue. What's up with that?

  1. Is it a new mixer? Does the KitchenAid sound like it's laboring hard when mixing a thin batter? It could be graphite, which is a lubricant to keep the machine cool.

  2. It must be a defect.  Contact the company and tell them the problem and they likely will send you a new one free of charge.  In the meantime I wouldn't use the paddle attachment.

  3. It souds like it needs a d**n good scrubbing.

It may be getting dusty in storage so wipe it before using.

  4. Are you sure its coming off of the paddle and not out of the motor some out. I would call customer service, doesnt sound safe to use.
