My Local Area Connection status shows over 200 packages sent and 0 packages received and I cannot access the Internet. The same connection works fine on a different computer. Should I check some Internet Settings or is it spy ware?

  1. Right click on the connection in the systray and try to repair it.  If still no go reboot the computer then test.  If still nothing, reply back with the ip address (found on the status tab of the connection)

  2. maybe someone hacked into you computer or virus attack, if not so might be due to weak connection signal

    Hope this helped .

  3. if you are sure you are not using a static IP address, and your other computer is obtaining a DHCP from the router.

try disabling the firewall on the problem computer.

Check your current IP address on the problem computer to ensure that it the IP address isnt currently set for 169.x.x.x address.

If it is, chances are that the lease on that IP address hasnt expired yet, and you might need to renew your ip

Try swaping the cable from your working computer to your problematic computer, and see if it obtains a DHCP lease now. (swap cable back once finished testing if it still doesnt work)

If not, try setting a static IP address on your problem computer to match that of the computer which can access the internet (only the first three octets of the IP address should match the working computer)

    computer 1 IP = x.x.x.y

    computer 2 IP = x.x.x.z

  4. are u using wireless? because if you are, the walls might be interfering with the signal.
