I was driving today and it was embarrassing because every time I try to hit the break on my Nissan Altima it honks. Everyone was staring at me when i was driving. Anyone know why? Or how I can turn it off?

  1. It's simply a glitch in the electrical system. Shops can usually fix this with ease. The problem is price :/

  2. It's under warranty - take it to the dealer and they will fix it for free. It sounds like faulty horn contacts, or the spring that holds the steering wheel centre cover off of the contacts is broken.

  3. to turn it off just disconnect it, but if you do that you need it. Murphy's Law:)

it may be due to a loose connection in the steering wheel, the part you normally press to activate the horn. apart from that it's way to hard to fix your car from my house:)

  4. sounds like some sort of electrical "short", take it to the dealer? maybe there was a recall for that. doesn't hurt to ask

  5. Check the electrical leads on top of the horn.

  6. Your wiring is messed up. Has anyone done any wiring work on the car recently?

  7. are your thumbs hitting the wheel button when you stop.. ? you can unplug the horn 'till you find the problem too. it could have a short too. go to dealer or auto electric shop before it creates a fire under the dash or in the fire wall.

  8. Why would you lease a car you don't want? I replaced a air bag module because the owner smashed in the air bag when he slugged the air bag. Animal he bent the steering wheel too.
