  1. A lot of cars do this - it's just the sound of the release of air or the lack of air that builds up in your gas tank as you are driving along, using the gasoline that's in the tank, leaving behind a vacuum of space.

If you look at some gas caps, you might notice a warning label that says to twist off slowly to avoid releasing pressure too quickly and causing yourself injury - however unlikely that might be.

    No worries :)

    Best of luck!

  2. Sounds like something has clogged or kinked your gas tank vent line ... it is necessary to allow the gas tank to breath when ever gas is pumped out to the motor so it doesn't develop a situation called vacuum lock.

  3. The airtight cap on the gas tank. As you use gas, the air gets sucked out and creates a vacuum.

  4. on your car it has a gas tank vent line on the left or drivers side of the car in the front is a canister looks like a coffe can pull the hoses off of it but be careful the plastic fitting break easily. if one of the lines vent some gas fumes then the canister is plugged. if it dosent then the line is plugged try taking compressed air and blowing thru the line. it wont hurt anything if left alone only equalizes the pressure between the inside of the tank and the outside air more noticeable when its hot out.
