I got it last year, and ever since, a lot of times it seems that the picture is somewhat shaky or stuttering. I don't understand why. I heard about something called a HDMI cable? I don't know what that is or anything, and I need help trying to figure out what to do... I use the plug that has the white, red, and yellow chords at the end. Is that wrong or something??? Help me

  1. you might need to edit your picture settings on your ps3. if your tv does that on actual stations or other game systems then it's your tv. if you have an hdtv with hdmi inputs i would get one of those. they look kind of like how the part of the yellow white and red cable that plugs into the ps3 only it looks the same on both sides. that will not only fix your picture but make it so your ps3 shows a high definition picture.

  2. Have you done the firmware update on your ps3? Yea maybe you need an HDMI cable but not necessarily. That's just if you want to see your games in high definition. I honestly think that sony's ps3 isn't a very good investment. Yea it has a blueray player but it's an entry level player. Xbox doesnt give you none of these hassles but that's jsut my opinion

  3. If your tv has an hdmi input then I would purchase one of those. That way its one cable and it handles sound and video and if you have a nice tv it will be a better picture too.

Cheap cables can be found here:

As far as your current connection just make sure its seated properly on both ends and your settings on the PS3 are correct for a/v output.
