Recently my computer began to restart automatically every few hours and sometimes few minutes. When windows starts, always a strange dialogue box appear "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting. Click RESOLVE NOW to get help with this problem...And another message at the bottom of the same windows xp WELCOME screen: "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting...This copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation. I don't understand what this means, but error messages have increased with this Pc (Tower Pc) resrarting automatically after such error messages appear. Anybody can help me sort this out? I'll be grateful, indeed!

  1. It's basically telling you that you have an illegal windows OS.

  2. First off, let me first say that the message you are getting and the sudden restarts you are experiencing are probably NOT related.

Second off, let me explain the message you are receiving. The message is actually a perfectly normal Windows/Microsoft 'error' message. It pops up because it detected that the version of your Windows is not genuine. The fact that your version of Windows isn't genuine, basically means that it does not have a valid product key which is given to each version of Windows as a verification to Microsoft that you purchased the product legally or from a business/company. Most versions of Windows or computers running the Windows version from a company have a valid Volume License Key. But if that key has been reported as stolen or leaked, it is blocked from validation by Microsoft, therefore being titled as being not genuine, hence your error message. You may need to contact your system administrator to report the problem.

Third off, as for you random restarting issue, try running your anti virus or an anti spyware program to see if it catches any bugs that may be causing that problem to occur. Then, run a disk cleanup and disk defragment on your machine to see if that helps. Good luck!
