Why does my Plasma TV have HDMI AUDIO IN jacks for my 2 HDMI inputs? Doesnt HDMI provide the Audio already?

Why does my Plasma TV have HDMI AUDIO IN jacks for my 2 HDMI inputs? Doesnt HDMI provide the Audio already?

  1. They're probably there as backup audio inputs to handle the case where your source device has DVI output but no HDMI output and you are using a DVI-to-HDMI converter. DVI does not carry audio.


  2. Those are used with a DVI video connector on older DVD and Cable boxes...

    DVI only has video signals on it , so when you connect a DVI output, using a DVI to HDMI cable, you need to also connect the RCA Audio output to those connectors on the HDMI input....

    Your manufacturer has some genuises on the Engineering staff , that's for sure....they know what they're doing....
