Question:

Why does my Puggle pup have runny poo?

We just adopted a puggle pup approximated to be about 1 year old. After getting him home we brought him for a walk thinking he might need to go potty. Sure enough he did but when he went #2 it was all runny! Liquid poo! He was nervous on the drive home so we thought that might be it. All day though he had runny poo. Now the next day he still has it. Is it just due to stress/nerves due to the new environment or could there be something wrong with him from the rescue we got him from?! Please help!

  1. There stools get loose when nervous. = runny poo

  2. its most likely because hes in a totally new environment and hes nervous because every things much different compared to being in a kennel with tons of other dogs. my golden did this 2 when i first adopted him but he stopped in about a week. if it keeps happening then maybe make a stop by the vet or even look it up on google. hope i helped!!

  3. Did you change the dog food from what he used to be fed? That could do it. If that's the case, just give it a week. If it still doesn't change I would call the vet. Good luck.

  4. i recently got a dog and a couple days after we got him he also had very loose stool it could be something your dog is eatingwe helped him by boiling chicken and rice and putting that with his normal dog food and it worked so try that and if it doesnt help i suggest maybe going to the vet if it doesnt get better after about a week. good luck =]

  5. He's still nervous. Show him lots of love and give him attention everyday, keep his food and water bowls filled up, but most of all, don't over do it. Leave him alone if he's scared, and gradually he will warm up to you and lose the liquid poo.

  6. dogs tend to do that if theyve started a new brand of dog food....could that be why???

  7. it could be the stress/excitement and also the change of his food, if you are feeding him something different then what he had.

they have to give them checkups before they can adopt him out and if they didnt find anything wrong with him i dont think you shoudl worry. it will correct in a few days when he gets used to the new area and new food.

  8. Probably nothing, you may have to change dog food, are you using the same as the shelter if not you may try that. Give him a couple of days to adjust.

  9. it could be worms i would take him to the vet ASAP it could be fatal

  10. it's diarrhea. it is caused by what it eats.

  11. Both of my pugs did this when we first brought them home give them a couple of days to adjust to the new environment and everything will be okay.

  12. Has he eaten grass lately? Sometimes they eat it if they are feeling sick.

Also, if you have given him any human food, it could be an allergy to that.

  13. All of the above are possible. If he is active and happy it's probably not to bad. Most likley, if it does not resolve in a day or so, he should be checked. Paracites, are a potential. There are many others also. However a happy bouncy dog with the runs from a rescue group often has small problems. It comes from being a dog and having a riough life.  Good newse, should be easily fixable IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
