Why does my Sony CDX-GT212 restarts when I raise the volume?

The curious thing about this problem is that the player only restarts when the car's engine is off. If the engine is turned on, the player works just fine.

Does it have something to do with the two SAL XB-12 bass tubes i have connected on the player's rear speakers? Or with the car's battery? It's brand new.

Your using quite a bit of power and your battery can't keep a steady current due to your not replenishing what you are using. Using caps will do better while your vehicle is off that way you have a steady draw and can keep it constant. Once your vehicle is on, your alternator can keep your voltage at a steady level.
