Why does my Truck CD player cut out??

Question

So yeah.... I got a Mp3 player a while ago and decided I wanted to listen to it over the speakers of my vehicle. I did not want to spend the money to buy a CD/Tape player and use the headphone adapter, and those adapters that play through radio waves are usually fuzzy for me. So I decided to "Jerry rig" my system by buying a used tape deck at a garage sale and tying the speaker wires in with my cd player.... well it worked but now when i turn my CD player on after a short amount of time the sound cuts out. But if i turn the tape player on the cd player's sound works but it had a interfearence sound with the tape player. PLEASE HELP!!

a after market cheap cd player is only like 40 bucks
