Question:

Why does my Wireless Lan keeps turning off on my laptop?

I'm currently using a VAIO laptop and basically when i turn on my laptop and then turn on the Wireless, the [WLAN] light comes on and my internet works. But after an hour or two or even 10 minutes, the [WLAN] light just turns off even though my wireless connection button is switched on (and the bluetooth light remains on). And I cannot get the [WLAN] light to come back on (or my internet connection) until i reboot my computer over and over again. This is never happened before until recently. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

  1. hmm, try re-installing the driver of the wi-fi. or update it, but i also think that if u actually updated your wifi driver and this started happening u should roll it back meaning going to your last driver version.

or do a system restore, its not a whole computer reboot but where u can go back to a time where u remmeber it worked fine. go to start>all programs>accesories>system tools>system restore. hopefully u can remember when this never happened and hopefully u still hav that date.

  2. Sounds like it could be a power saving feature. Would have a look in the vaio software for your wireless card, and see if there is any power saving feature turned on. Or have a look in the control panel.
