I have to frequently connect my Zune to two different computers (desktop-home, laptop-school). Yet every time that i switch from computer to computer it changes the album info (normally just the Year and occasionally the picture) of the songs that i loaded from the previous computer.

I don't sign the zune in as a guest and prefer to use the link function that says that the songs will remained untouched, but that doesn't seem to be the case

  1. Go into the Zune software and go to settings in the right hand corner. Then click the software button and the collection category. Look toward the bottom of the screen where it says media info. Make sure this is unchecked  then click ok - thus it will stop updating info. Of course you will need to do it on both zune. It will allow take a few seconds.

This solved my problem of the album info being change or the album art.

  2. I've had the same issue.  What I've done to solve this is to keep my desktop computer with the most music on it as the master system, and link to it so it syncs automatically.

I connect to my laptop computer as guest.  Connecting as guest still lets you synch your music, but you have to manually drag and drop the files.  This way, the main computer (desktop) remains the primary source of music unless I choose to overwrite with music from my laptop.  The laptop album metadata (pictures, year, etc.) will never overwrite my Zune.

Another trick I've found is that you can go onto your primary system, open the album within Zune, and right click on it to choose 'Find Album Info'.  You can then find the correct album version, and it won't change from then on.
