Why does my age show on name in chat room?

yahoo already knows my age so why does it show on my name when I enter a chat room

Im sure if you really thought about it hard you can figure that out.

just in case you can't, it's to protect yahoo from any potencial lawsuits that might result in a minor communicating with a potential Predator/Pedophile.
