Why does my aunt like to do such c**p?

Why does my aunt enjoy running down my mom and brother?

My mom is deaf in both ears.

This sounds like a family disagreement that goes back a long way.

Why don't you ask your aunt why she feels she has to be so offensive? The worst she can do is to add you to the list of people she apparently dislikes.

Some people are extremely shallow and will go after anyone with a perceived weakness. Your mother has overcome far more than your aunt, I would imagine, so your aunt's criticism is ridiculous and unwarranted.

When people do that to my family members or friends, I look them straight in the eye, move closer to them, and praise my loved ones for their courage, hard work, intelligence or whatever will counteract the criticism by that person. I never stop looking directly at them. I keep it short, calm, and to the point. Then I stop talking and wait for them to respond but I keep staring at them. Usually, they mutter some lame remark and walk away. But, they won't be so quick to criticize again.

she has no compasion for handicap people, so she is just showing her  ignorance towards them, maybe one day she too will be at a disadvantage and someone will do the same to her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It may make her feel better about herself, next time just kindly tell her please don't speak about my mother that way, I do no appreciate it, and if she doesn't stop tell that it hurts your feelings for her to speak to your mother like that, and tell to leave and don't come back until she can show some respect for your mother, good luck!

Your aunt is probably jealous of your mom.

I would tell her off, I don't care if she's my aunt or not, obviously she doesn't care about the most important people in your life, so, why should you care about her?

Unfortunately some people are just like this, mean, hateful and messy. They mostly tend to be this way towards family. They are also miserable most times so they do all they can to make others feel the same way. Do you know your family history? Do some checking around about your aunt and mother's childhood. Your aunt's attitude could be a result from what went on back then.  Everything stems from childhood and what people went through growing up. The kind of childhood we have determines the kind of life and emotions will have as adults. If you had a messed up childhood, you're more than likely not gonna be a very happy adult.  And if you spent your childhood jealous of your siblings or being mistreated by your parents...that's a big sign too. That's all I can say.

Some people just seem to be made to see the negative stuff, seem to like focusing on the bad stuff.  And forget that everyone had feelings, and everyone has something that redeems them in some way.  I find those types of people are angry and frustrated people, never finding honest happiness because they are so full of negativity.  You can't do anything about them and since this one is your aunt, you can't exactly divorce her.  But when she started "running down" your people you do have the right to defend them, to point out that even if your mom is deaf, she's a loving and honest person who takes care of her family, has a heart and soul as big as the sky, has raised good kids and has been a good sister (to that aunt); you'd rather not talk to her (your aunt) if she's going to spew all that ugly stuff about other people.  And just remember how she makes you feel and never never do that to anyone no matter what happens.
