Why does my auto-run on my CD drive not work?

I have a HP Pavilion dv9810us Notebook PC. I'm running Windows Vista. When I put a CD in the drive it does not automatically run. I have tried multiple CDs on here as well as on other computers. I always have to go to my CD drive in My Computer to get it to work.
