  1. is the tank heated

    it sounds like its cold

  2. he's just resting on the rocks or something.

  3. Hes fine he doesnt half to move 24/7 all fish stand still.

  4. It might have to do with the water temperature .... if the water is too cold, the fish will become lethargic... if the water is to warm, it will be hyperactive. Get a thermostat for his tank (or bowl, or whatever). It should be above 75 degrees. (You can buy heaters, too).

Ok, since people think I don't know what I'm talking about and keep giving me thumbs down on this, I'll post a link. ;-)

  5. That's what fish do they swim until they are tired and then they rest, they sleep too.

  6. Its perfectly normal if your betta isn't moving constantly. Being stopped is common. And your betta may be scared of you when it sees you by him, or is expecting you to feed it. If you want your betta to be more active, add live plants and decorations to your bettas tank (cause I hope its not in a bowl or vase).

  7. All of my fish do this. I dont know why but I do know it is normal. Dont worry. Your fish is fine.

  8. If he's moving, he's looking for food.

If he's not, he's not looking for food.

What kind of tank do you have him in?  Fish will move around more when there is space and stuff to check out.

  9. Resting!  My gosh, it would be exhausting to move your fins 24/7 so I bet he is just drifting along, relaxing, contemplating fishy things.

    I bet he's fine.

Have fun with your new family member!
