Question:

Why does my bird hide under its wing?

sometimes it will be sitting on me and just lift its wing up, and stick its head underneath, almost like peekaboo. is that what its trying to do?

  1. This is very common in all birds.  They sleep this way much of the time.  Even a snooze while you are holding him is always better when the head is under the wing.  They will also sort of hold up the wing and rub the head underneath the wing, this is part of the preening process.  Nothing to worry about.....


  2. well when they sleep they kinda tuck their heads...but if the head is going all the way under the wing...I don't know.

  6. Little bird feels comfortable and secure enough to preen his wing feathers near you and when he looks up he is checking to make sure you won't get mad at him for putting feathers on your shirt.
