Why does my bird whistle when i put my foot by him?

i will whistle at him all day and he does nothing. but once i put my foot near him his mohawk goes down (he is a cockatiel) and he starts to this little clicking noise and then he starts to whistke beautifully. (with or without my sock doesnt matter he still whistles

  1. Maybe your feet smell. Just kidding. Hm well maybe he thinks your gonna abuse him in some way if he was abused before you got him.


  2. He has a crush on your foot!  Male cockatiels are weird like that... mine is in love with his cage cover, and sometimes my brother's nose.  XD

  3. maybe he's comforted by it somehow. perhaps he associates your foot with food or other good things? cockatiels are funny because they'll happily whistle at the strangest things or the strangest times.

  5. Well, it could be one of two things. Either he feels treatened by it and is trying to "ward" it off or he likes it for some odd reason!!
