Because you are questioning he's character. It's kind of mean to call someone a liar, would you like it? I wouldn't. And you are implying that you dont trust him as well

Duh? Calling someone a liar is a pretty strong insult. It's an attack on a person's character. How would you feel if he questioned your values in a similar way?

you may be telling the truth concerning that he lies. its not what you say its how you say it and the timing when you do. try telling him about some of things he is doing right. then you can slip in your concern about his lying and how you wish that he would be honest with you. when he does admit to his fault. applaud him for his honesty
