Why does my browser go to a dell search page?

It has happened sporadically when I click mail, or news, or finances. First I get to the page I clicked, and then after 30 or so seconds I'm moved to a dell search page saying the page I wanted can't be found. I hit the back button and I'm back where I wanted to be. What is going on?

  1. Click on tools.  Click on Internet Options.  Under the general tab, make sure the address under home page is listed as www.yahoo.com or wherever else you want your home page to be.

  2. You have a gremlin in your PC. Just kidding. It's really aliens. For real. You have something in your PC that doesn't belong there and that's alien. I'd have to ask, Is your PC a DELL and new. If so you have something on your pc original installed by Dell that redirects your search page.

Other wise your browser may have a dell page set as a default home page. If not, are you using a shortcut or a shortcut key on your keyboard to access the internet. If so you have to have your shortcut reset to a blank url.

If not then I have run out of easy options and your next 2 options are. Reinstall Internet Explorer. If this does not work then you may some sort of virus or other redirect worm or spyware on your PC. If present spyware removal software or anti-virus software does not clear the problem then re-format your PC.

    Good Luck
