  1. Hi there it is possible that your budgie is nervous about coming out his cage. You could try tempting him out with a bit of food or favourite treat or toy etc. dont make any sudden movements or loud noises. if all else fails just leave the door of the cage open but make sure all mirrors and windows are covered and all doors and windows are closed. Just sit on the floor and dont make any movements diddys curiosity will most likely get the better of him. Also where is the cage positioned and where did you get diddy from?

  2. You have to slowly train and introduce your budgie to new things. He is just scared of how large everything out of the cage is.

  3. I have a budgie similar to your budgie, they feel open when let out of their cages. Its harrowing for a budgie to see all these objects and people and big things when in the comfort of the own cage they have small things to fit them. By continually taking him out of his cage you should help him overcome his fear, and soon he will have no problems!

My own budgie would get on top of the cage, climb down and open the door, get back in and close the door again whenever i took him out ;) ha ha was pretty funny.

He never really became accustomed to the outside world so i leave him in his cage now (which is very large)...and he seems a lot happier! :)

  4. well, actually it depends if you handled it a lot at the time you got it, if you played with it daily and gave it lots of exercise it shouldn't be like this now but if you didn't it is probably scared to come out cause its never been out before i suggest trying every day to take it out and play with it and handle it and make it feel safe in its own environment. hope this helped

  5. I used to have the same problem with one of my parrots.  He wouldn't mind anything in the cage, but whenever i took him out he would have a nervous meltdown.  But, whatever you do, DO NOT FORCE HIM OUT.  I've learned that if you try to force them out, they get it into their heads that it is scarier than it was.  This makes them refuse it even more.  I guess just give it time, and be slow and gentle.  You can slowly temp him with treats and kindness and stuff.  Unfortunately, my bird always had this problem.   He got better later in his life, but although he would eventually leave his cage, he never got comfortable.    (this is because i got him from a previous owner.)

    Hope this helps~best of luck!

  6. Maybe he is agoraphobic.

  7. He's anxious about leaving the security of his cage.
