Why does my burner now burn a coded movie in an hour and before it was at 16x it was 10 min?

I redid my computer a few months back and when I did that my dvdv writer again wrote dvd's at 16x in 10 then it went up and now it is 1 hour what is going on.

  1. Are you using the same type of discs, because dvd discs are rated from 2x to 16x and can only be written at their respective speeds.  If the discs are the same, try updating the firmware for you dvd rw.


  2. When the final screen comes up before you start the right process, did you notice what the burn speed says its going to write at?  I have had discs from the same set go from 18x speed to the next disc being 4x.

    Also are you doing any recoding of the disc at the same time.  That would also cause it.
