Why does my cake batter boil over?

I use these ready made cake mixes for baking a cake-however lately i notice that my cake batter boils over in the oven!! I bake them at a temperature mentioned on the cake mix box..

Also,the cake turns out tasting well and in a nice form BUT HOW COME my BATTER BOILS OVER LIKE MILK!!

  1. That's definitely weird:) ... I assume you're using the correct liquid measurements.  Maybe you're using smaller pans than normal.  They fit nicely into 2 9" layer pans, a bundt pan or a 9x13" pan.....


  2. you pour to much into the pan...duh

  3. Are you filling the pans too full?  You should only fill the pans 1/2 -2/3 full of batter.  The batter rises as it bakes.

  4. Check the box and then check your altitude. Depending on where you live, you may need to adjust for high altitude, which is considered above 2500 feet.

  5. maybe the temp it too high?
