Why does my car's instrument panel light

go off ?

here is honda accord 2000, V6, 4D, I am finding it difficult to drive in night because I do not see instrumentation panel back light , so can not see speed, gas level and any other indication except gear number..

What could be reason and how to correct this...issue ?

  1. First, go ahead and change the fuse, it may not be completely blown and shorting across the gap. If that's not it, then you'll heed to pull the instrument panel out and check the circuit board on the back and change any of the lights that are blown. I believe the circuit board is a plastic sheet with copper "trails" with in it, if one of them cracks or breaks it will periodically work.


  2. there is a dimmer on for the instrument panel lights to the left of the stearing wheel. it's usually a roller or a thumb wheel that can be rolled up or down to brighten or dim the dash lights.

    the other possibility is that the fuse for the instrument panel may be blown. there is usually a fuse specically for that. check all your fuses and replace it if necessary with the correct amp fuse

  3. well it sounds electrical so maybe u need a new fuse but to be sure take it to a mechanic....
