Why does my car always overheat?

I've just replaced my thermostat, and it always has fluids. It overheats even faster when I try to use the AC. When it overheats, antifreeze pours out of the overflow. What could be the problem? And, how much would it cost to fix?

well you did the first thing to try.. right thermostat... check your belt or fan.... hoses... are you filling the radiator or the overflow jug.... might take the radiator off and to a radiator shop and have it acid dip it will be like new again and i bet that will do it

Try getting radiator flush.  You don't say much, about exactly what is causing it it.

Your coolants are suppose to be flushed every 3 years anyway.

If you get over heat when idling (or very slow traffic) then it is probably electric fan related (if you have electric fan).

(1) failed fan

(2) failed fan relay

(3) failed fan wire

(4) failed fan relay

(5) failed fan fuse

(6) failed water temp sensor

The other parts that could cause overheating are: Thermostat, blocked radiator, air bubble in the radiator, bad water pump.

possibly you have channels inside your radiotor plugged with hard water residue.  to fix they take the top off of the radiator and shove rods inside to break up the deposits.  Depending on your car depends on how much it takes.

or i am completely wrong. which has happened in the past.

if you have a motorized fan run by a limit switch, the limit switch may be bad, preventing the fan from going on.

watch the engine at idle. does the fan kick on and off? if so, it's ok. if not, the limit switch or the fan itself is bad.

Does it overheat while driving, or are you standing in your car for long periods of time with it idling. Is your climate hot where you are?

Have you checked to see if the fan is working?  Does the check engine light come on?
