Whenever I plug in my cell phone to charge in the car, it makes my radio all static-y. Why?? As soon as I unplug the phone, the radio is crystal clear.

  1. They must be on the same power circuit! You can put a suppressor in-line with the radio, that should fix it!

  2. The charger has a high frequency power system to make it small and light, but in adequate shielding and noise suppression on the line.  In addition, you car radio is overly sensitive to the emissions of the charger.

I would try two donut style ferrite on the charger's cord.

One attached as close the phone as possible, and one as close to the car's outlet as possible.
