Why does my car make a whistling sound when i start it and accelerate?

  1. I would check the belts (timing or serpentine) when the engine is off and see if they need replacing.


  2. Turbos make a whistleing when getting up to speed

  3. it could be a loose hose but more likely a bad bearing in something belt driven like the alternator, water pump, etc. you can try removing one belt at a time and see if the noise goes away

  4. Could either be belts or , possibly the alternator is going to go?
