Ok. So I have an 98 f150 that I'm pretty sure had good system in it at one tiem. Anyway, I bought a stereo about two years ago and have been blaring it about 90% ever since. Well, twice this week, I've been driving and the music just cuts out. The display stays on, but no music. I was pretty pissed and went to work. 5 hours later I'm leaving work and the stereo works. Then today I was driving, and bam! Music cuts out on me. Both times i had volume at about 39/46. I have had it at this level for two years with no problem. I have no idea what it is. I took it out today and checked all the connections, but the all seem good. Any ideas what it could be. It has 2 6x9's and i think the other 2 are 6.5x6.5's. Any help is appreciated.

  1. even though u checked the wiring, it sounds like a bad ground. maybe coming directly off the wiring harness of the stereo. make sure all grounds are on unpainted metal. and make sure that all the wires haven't any cracks or w/e.  i dont think its your speakers, because only some would stop playing probably.
