  1. Cats are born with the instinct to hunt, but most need to be taught to kill by the mother cat. If the mother was not a hunter (killer), he probably won't be either, but he still likes the thrill of the chase.

  2. my cat does the exact same thing, and also with bugs, she will just play with ants and not eat them or anything, same with mice too, just looks at them

  3. Why do you like it when your cat kills a bird? Would you like it if a dog killed your cat? Birds are harmless and beautiful! I have 3 indoor cats and I FEED the birds in my yard! Killing a bird is just as much animal cruelty!!

  4. its not animal cruelty, its nature!but its also in a cats nature to play with their prey.you must feed it better tasting food than a bird.lucky cat!cats do just fine outside.every cat Ive ever had has been a strict outside cat!nothing bad ever happened.i think its cruel to trap them indoors just to sooth my insecurity's.

  5. Cats like to play with their captures and during this process birds loose a lot of feathers. Perhaps he gets interrupted before he has got to the final kill.

Our cats bring their trophies into the house through the cat door. They are mostly just stunned and we have to try to rescue them while one or other of our cats tries to recapture them. This can cause some excitement especially if you have visitors.

Perhaps your cat gets all his fun by just playing with the feathers or maybe he is just not a killer, some cats aren't.

  6. He probably knows that cats shouldn't be allowed outdoors to get hurt and kill off native wildlife.

  7. Because he's a püssy.

  8. maybe he/she is play  with the bird don't want to kill it like my cat she catch the mouse  and play  with it and  when she tried she kill it .well it cruel to kill a bird but some cat cannot  help it's in there nature  they are in the lion family  so they will.
