  1. your cat is trying to make a comfortable bed. it is called kneading....

  2. sorry to say but it's a nasty thing they are doing.does your cat l**k itself afterwards on it's private area?if so,it's a horny thing to relieve themself.

  3. She's nesting! Its adorable and a natural instinct in cats. It means she's comfortable and possibly ready to take a nap.

  4. 2 of my cats do this (siblings).  They have a favorite scarf that they'll drag around the house, then settle in to knead and purr and chew a little.  They were only 6 weeks old when we rescued them; they may have been weaned from their mother too early.  It's still super cute though.

  5. my dog sometimes does this too. She may want it to move out of the way so she can lay down in its place or, she may be trying to bury something (as is the case of my dog)

  6. my cat does the same thing. I have afur lik blanket and he does that. I thought it might of been because that was one of the first blankets i layed him on when he was a kitten. I think it comforts them because my cat purs when he does it.

  7. Kneeding.. is what it is called.

that is what cats / kittens do...

They did this to their momma to let down the milk...

  8. She's comforting herself - cats naturally kneed on soft objects.  Whether is comforting herself or kneeding a bed to make it softer.  It's ok, just a normal behavior.

  9. Kittens do this when they are nursing.  It brings them comfort, and cats usually display this type of behavior when they are content.

Think of it as a child that sucks his thumb.

When our cats do this, my boyfriend calls it "making muffins".

  10. I have had a few cats that have done this too. I think it has to do with being taken away from their mother too early. If you watch them it looks like a kitten would that was nursing on its mother. But I am no vet, it's just my opinion.
