Why does my cat drag small items of clothing like panties and socks to the front door?

My 10 year old female cat always picks up small items of clothing that are lying around and drags them to the front door. The whole time the clothing is in her mouth, she moans. At first I thought it was because she misses my mother or me when we're absent, but then I realized she does it even when we are home. It's quite strange and also funny, because when I open the front door I see my underwear on the floor! I even caught her the other day dragging a slipper. I know it's harmless and cute, but why does she do it?

I'm not sure, I'm sure she has her own reasons! My male cat does this, it appears he likes dragging things around. I don't know why, he's quite strange.

i think she does that to get attention and wants to play   she givin ya a hint  play with me or be embarrassed.

Same reason they bring mice and birds to their owners, it's a present to say thank you.  That and you are blessed with a very silly cat.

nobody wants to hear about a thong, how the h**l can a cat be a perv...and I'm pretty sure the clothes aren't dirty and if they were then the cat wouldn't touch them as cats hate smelly things...so all those answers are stupid and/or irrelevant...it just seems as some animals do this to get attention or it smells like you so she likes it and plays with it or moves it around or whatever shes doing with it...its just a random thing some animals do...there's really no explanation for it

My cat picks up random objects and drops them all over as well. Don't understand it but it is cute to see him carrying something XD. Could just be something some cats do. "OH WHATS THIS? IMA TAKE IT OVER HERE!"

Perhaps she is saying "Hey! Why'd you leave that there? It belongs HERE!"

They are her babies.  She is putting them where she thinks they will be safe.  My cat used to do that with my sister's boyfriend's socks.  Now he has a stuffed animal that he loves.  He puts it in his mouth and yowls and carries it around the house until he finds a place he likes and puts it there.  It is very cute!

My dog does the same thing... its sooo weird. lol when i first started dating my bf my dog walks downstairs by us with my thong in her mouth hahha! I would really like to know why they do that 2.
