  1. The only downside to them eating grass outside is the foreign contaminants they can ingest. But yes, they do eat it to help with digestion. It adds fiber to their diet. Because cats don't normally drink a lot of water, the added fiber adds moisture to their digestion thus making things move a little better. If your cats eat outside grass it's important to get them tested for worms at their regular check ups.

  2. Inside is a safe place for your cat.  He/She loves you and feels safe around you.  So it eats the grass and comes in to be in a safe place to be sick.

  3. Believe it or not, grass is good for them. Rids them of hairballs, an upset tummy & many other things. Buy him/her cat grass from the pet store. A lot safer than the grass outside he/she is consuming.

  4. The cat would throw up outside if it were left outside; it's not forming intent.

  5. Hair balls-they are trying to get rid of them. grass is good for them. while they are vormitting, they are vulnerable so they tend to come in and do it. When it is secure enough, it will do it outside.
