Why does my cat follow me when I'm outside ?

he never follows me when I'm inside. hes an indoor/outdoor so when i go out he pops out of no were and starts following me running its so cute ! or when i get out of my car and start walking to my apartment he runs to me all of a sudden and follows me. why does he do this ?

that is so cool!!! my cat does not like to be loved on inside the house, and when he goes outside he will try to run far far away. but if we go for a ride in the car he is so happy he just wants to chill in my lap or on my shoulders as i drive, he looooves it

Because you have been petting it alot. Once you pet it alot, then cats want you to pet them more. Just ignore him until he stops following you.

He might just want to be let back in the house. Some cats don't really like being outdoors much, so he may just not want to miss his opportunity to get back in.

i have the same thing when my cat is outside it follows me just wonder is it when it is on a sunny or hot day what ever whether your cat like. but my cat lives it when its sunny and hot it follow my and brushes on my leg because it just wants you to show some care and shroke it.
