Why does my cat follow strangers to my front door?

She follows me when I come home because she wants dinner. But I have seen see follows strangers to my door. For example the meter reader called when I was out for the day and she followed him as well and was asking to be let in.

    My neighbour's cat sits at my door when her owner is out, hoping I'll let her into mine.

  4. Your kitty is quite a lady.  Perhaps you should follow her lead and escort your guest' out.  She will return with you if you do.

    If she has a tendency to linger, wagging her tail and sniffing the air, gently call her back in.

    Many, many, house animals have that character habit.
