  1. its scared and so it hides there to be "safe"

  2. A lot of cats as well as dogs are afraid of thunder (and loud noises in general). Bathrooms usually either don't have windows or have very small windows, so they are better insulated from the noise in there.

  3. Cats find a good place to hide when they are afraid of something like a storm.  Cats are creatures of habit and routine.  Whenever a storm hits they seek out their "safe place".  Cats often really like to have at least one high wall around them when they feel unsafe.  I wouldn't be too worried about it.

  4. you may not believe this but cats are smarter than humans.and the safest place to go during a powerful storm is the bathtub if it has a shower curtain.so maybe he goes their because he knows that its the safest place to go during a storm.

  5. Because that where it feels the safest.

  6. becasue cats know it's the most "insulated" place in the house and it will more than likley protect them

  7. Good answers...but the truth is, cats are feline and they follow the habits of their ancestors, namely lions, tigers, cougars, ect. When it rains or thunders, they look for the shelter of a cave to ride it out. Now, which room is your house is most like a cave. And the bathtub has walls on every side, like a cave. And its dry. Your cat is doing what instinctively cats do. I hope this helps.
