Why does my cat hiss and fight with other cats and kittens?

Question

every time my cat sees another cat or kitten he starts hissing and then the two cats get in a fight.

and I'm thinking about getting another cat

what do i do?

OK, you know some humans that can't be with anyone else of they start a fight, well this may be your cat. Or, maybe your cat has not be socalized that much. I would go to the vets and ask them. But we have a cat that won't go near anything. She hisses and trys to kill her own son! So, i know how you feel

i think that is normal and when i got a kitten when i already had a cat they were mad at each other for a while and then got along fine! it s just that ur cat is really pertective!

It's a territorial thing. Perfectly normal for cats to do this. Be prepared for LOTS of it if you bring a new cat home.
