When i scritch him under the chin he grabs my hand with his two front paws and bites my hand (not hard) but its weird because as soon as hes done doing this he licks it gently. He only does this with me. Is he saying sorry or something?

  1. thats how they show you they love you. my cat does it too. he bites me hard but not enough to make it bleed.

  2. yes its his way of saying sorry, mine have done it for years, they show a bit of aggression to you then they l**k the hands that feed them..

  3. It's probably a "love bite"... some cats will do that when being petted and getting a little overexcited... since he licks you afterwards it doesn't sound like "stop petting me".  I"m not a fan of the love bite, so cat goes off my lap when that happens.

  4. that means he love you when he bited you he maybe was playing then he knew if was you so he said sorry by l*****g you :)

  5. i was wondering the same thing about my cat not to long ago so i looked it up online and found out that , that is just a cats way of playing, i also noticed that my queen cat does the same things to her babies =]

so don't worry it's just playing

but if it starts to bite hard then something could be wrong
