Why does my cat l**k plastic wrappers ?

Question

My cats have been l*****g all type of wrappers,

for example - Crunchie wrappers, any silver wrappers.

I don't get it! would someone be so kind to tell me why? thnx

I would say if the wrapper has had food, smelly things etc. it is trying to l**k the food off if they are just wrappers from presents etc. the paper may just smell interesting to them dont worry to much its just them being cats :D

My cat loves plastic too, no matter what kind, as long as its plastic. He even taught my other cats how to chew plastic. One warning though, Be careful they dont eat it, or you WILL find it on the floor, most likely with your toes in early morning. Not a good feeling between toes.  They tend to regurgitate them. Im unsure on why they do it, but after 5 years, Piggers wont stop. Ive tuned my hearing to hear plastic rustling at night, and usualy give a shout, or a squirt from the bottle. Good luck!

I have a cat that does that too except its purely plastic bags like grocery store bags or shopping bags from like Target, things that didn't contain food so I know it had nothing to do with that.  I also have one that shreds toliet paper rolls given half the chance.

My only explanation is that the texture must feel good to them.

All cats have unique personalities and habits that sometimes look strange to us humans. For example one of my cats will not let me pick her up or touch her with my hands but will let me rub her with my feet all day long... I can't explain it... Thats what Stinky likes.

My cat Peggy licks anything plastic...garbage bags, bread bags, candy wrappers, and wal-mart bags.  She is a very funny cat, but I've realized that this is really normal.  Animals have weird habits, and I guess as long as it isn't dangerous to their health, it is fine to let them do it.

It's probably b/c there is some flavor left on the wrappers.
