  1. get the cat desexed. i had the same problem with my cat milo. they only do it in the one spot. chilli powder on the spot worked for a little while. although if it's an older cat, it might be like mine and go to the toilet outside exept when it rains, he'll go down the drain in the bathroom floor.

  2. Fix your cat. Go to a vet and have it neutered or spayed. This will fix most problems. Also, putting a cat into the pee and making him smell it and then yelling no and then locking him into the bathroom will do nothing except make your cat resent you even more. You aren't teaching him a darn thing. Just like dogs, you can't take them to the smell later.

You go to the pet store and get a product that makes that area smell very bad to the cat to pee on. Make sure you keep the liter box cleaned, cats won't want to go there if it's too full. Also, if a liter box is near the food, they won't want to use it. Who wants to eat where they poo? If you dont' want to do it, than why would a cat who has better smelling abilities than you? Yuck. Make sure the liter is far from the food.

The cat may have never been liter trained to begin with. You may need to train the cat to go in the liter. there are books you can get to try to teach the cat. Did or does the cat ever go in the box?? Believe it or not, cats have to be trained to go there. Many momma cats train their kittens to do so, but many kittens are taken away from their momma's way to early in their life.

You need to get the scent out of it's favorite areas to go though and you should lay the liter box (cleaned of course) right on it's favorite spot.

Stop with the negative reactions to your cat. I know you are frustrated, but you aren't doign anything but releasing YOUR anger and not helping the cat to understand you in the least. Giving it a treat while in the liter box isn't good either, again... the food and the bathroom area isn't a good idea. Grab a book or video from the library on liter training your cat.

Like the other said, you can also try different liter. But keep it cleaned out daily to make them want to go in it.

  3. Maybe he doesn't like the cat litter..try different brands, I swear by fresh step and have 5 indoor cats...if it's been almost a year, it sounds like it's become a behavioral thing tho....

this link will help you alot.. it talks about all the causes and solutions.. from neutering to health

read it please I am sure it will help

  5. I would definitely take him to the vet. This could either be a behavioral problem or he might have a bladder infection. If its either, the vet can recommend appropriate treatment.
